As a HR professional, a key component of your job duties involves initiating the hiring process for new employees and transferring current employees to new appointment records. The purpose of this checklist is to assist you with this process by guiding you through this process.

Important Information About Rehires

Rehires after a break in service generally follow the same process and checklist as transfer hires, but there are a few additional requirements:

  • GatorStart & I-9: A new GatorStart packet, including a new Form I-9 with supporting documents, is required after any break in service.
  • Application: A new application (OPS/PageUp) must be submitted when needed for the new hire after any break in service.
  • Loyalty Oath: A new Loyalty Oath must be completed after any break in service.
  • Background Check: If the break in service is 90 days or more, a new Hire Right background check is required before the employee can return to work.
