Level 2 Background Screening
- Comprehensive criminal background check that includes fingerprint-based checks for statewide criminal history records (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) and national criminal history records (Federal Bureau of Investigation).
- Local criminal records check through local law enforcement agencies and search of the sexual predator and sexual offender registries of any state in which the current or prospective employee resided during the immediately preceding five years. This check is processed by the requestor through the HireRight Portal.
Who Requires a Level 2 Background Screening?
- Positions of trust or responsibility.
- Roles in sensitive locations.
Exceptions
For positions related to the below, a Level 2 DCF Background Screening must be selected instead:
- Baby Gator
- After School Programs
- Florida Department of Children and Families
- Youth activities and camps
Level 2 Background Screening
Step 1: Background Request Form Submission
The hiring department submits the form to initiate the process.
Step 2: Level 2 Supplement (HireRight) Completion
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding (TAO) instructs the hiring department to submit a package or that it is on file and not required.
Step 3: Fingerprint Scheduling
TAO provides candidate instructions for fingerprint scheduling.
Step 4: Fingerprint Session Completed
Candidate completes fingerprint session with appropriate identification.
Step 5: Results
TAO receives results and provides the hiring department with the Background Results Form.
