The University of Florida began requiring all employees to be E-Verified in January 2010. E-Verify was originally established in 1996 with Form I-9 originating on November 6, 1986.
Reverification is never required for:
- U.S. citizens or noncitizen nationals
- Documents such as U.S. passports, U.S. passport cards, Form I-551 (Green Cards), and List B documents when they expire
Employees with expiring immigration status or work authorization documents should file necessary applications well in advance to maintain continuous employment authorization. USCIS provides employment authorization extensions under certain conditions. See Section 6.0 for more information.
