Managing Remote Employees

Planning to expand your program internationally or hire an international employee for the University? Navigating this process requires careful consideration, as it differs significantly from domestic hiring. Based on restrictions in BOG regulations 9.012, Prohibited Expenses, working remote from a country of concern is not permissible.

Remote Work Abroad

Strategic partnerships and global reach can be fostered in remote work abroad opportunities. An agreement should be approved prior to travel, countries of concern should be considered, and sponsored research activities abroad must be reviewed by UF Research. Remote Work Agreement is required when time working abroad extends past 30 calendar days. Access the Remote Work Location Agreement form here.
